As a bilingual school with Chinese children as the main part, nationality is rooted in MBSer's philosophy of education. MBS attaches great importance to cultivating children's cultural identity and understanding, and builds core literacy based on the infiltration of Chinese culture.

The various teaching activities around “Chinese Culture” also enhance students' critical thinking ability, stimulate their respect for Chinese tradition, tolerance of cultural differences.

The "Reading The Whole Book" promoted by the Chinese Section is precisely the concrete practice of this concept. “Reading The Whole Book” leads students to really enter the text. In reading, they can understand the profoundness of Chinese culture, enhance their recognition and understanding of Chinese culture, and finally realize cultural consciousness and cultural reflection with critical thinking and open mind.

Calligraphy course at MBS takes copying practice as the main method to understand the relationship between calligraphy culture and other kinds of art through multiple perspectives, and to comprehend the charm of calligraphy in the process of practice. In the course of teaching, students' interest in calligraphy history, theoretical research and brushwork techniques will be stimulated, and students will be trained to correctly understand the relationship between brushwork, rules, lines and emotional expression of the calligraphy style they have learned. While mastering the characteristics and artistic rules of the calligraphy style they have learned, students' appreciation, concentration and confidence will be cultivated.
